What is the difference between Accreditation & Certification?
Accreditation refers to the approval given by a government or semi-government agency to an independent certifying body to conduct audits and issue the seal of approval for ISO certification. In order to receive the accreditations, the certifying body has to pass stringent procedures and meet the compliances as per ISO 17021.
Certification refers to the process of the certifying body conducting audits of companies, who voluntarily request for ISO certification. Once the company has successfully passed the audits, it is certified to be ISO compliant.
